Our five day passage from Fiji (Robinson Crusoe or Likuri Island) to New Caledonia was delightful. Most of the time the winds were light, which was fine with us. We did change our nominal destination a couple of times as weather conditions changed or we got more information, but the net result was that we ended up in Noumea.
The following are our noon positions and statistics:
|Mon 3||18° 03'||177° 17'||0||696||Depart Robinson Crusoe (Likuri) Island, Fiji|
|Tue 4||19° 15'||175° 01'||150||546||Caught 41" Wahoo, great sailing all day|
|Wed 5||20° 05'||172° 22'||160||386||Beautiful sailing all day, with dolphins entertaining us at dinner|
|Thurs 6||20° 23'||169° 50'||146||240||Fine sailing all morning, light in afternoon|
|Fri 7||21° 32'||168° 16'||116||124||No wind all morning, but beautiful afternoon|
|Sat 8||22° 17'||166° 26'||124||0||Arrive Pt. Moselle Marina, Noumea, New Caledonia|
The newsletters we sent while on passage are shown by date, plus we've included two other letters we sent once we arrived in New Caledonia. There's more information about these beautiful islands on the New Caledonia Destinations pages.
